Cadre prepared a precinct plan for Henley on Klip, a residential community of approximately 1 050 ha east of the R59 between the Sedibeng and Midvaal municipal areas, sponsored by the NDALRRD under an intergovernmental steering committee. The precinct — home to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls — has a nostalgic, rural character, yet lies outside the urban development boundary while facing density pressure from its proximity to the Meyerton CBD and the R59.
Cadre's spatial concept structures the precinct as functional zones — "the chambers of the heart" — each with distinct land-use characteristics and densities that support the area's unique identity. The plan resolves the tension between conservation and development, directing growth towards appropriate built form while respecting heritage and dolomite constraints.
The plan proposes four focus projects: gateway elements at the R59 entrance, a functional movement network with placemaking features, an open space network anchored on a recreational spine at The Oval, and infrastructure service upgrades in Zone 1 east of the river.
