After graduation, Louw worked at local government, private town planning and industrial engineering consultants before he entered academia. Subsequently, he established himself as a town planning and urban design consultant. Louw also embarked on a tour guiding career (part-time) whilst consulting. He also owned and managed a restaurant for five years between planning and touring.
Louw relishes urban design and sustainability projects.
