Mpumi graduated with a BCom Business Management at University of Pretoria (2013) after she obtained an Associate of Arts (Business) in 2009 at Ohlone College, California, USA. She is recognised as a basketball leader in South Africa and is also employed by St Benedict's College as Mistress in charge of basketball. She worked with Aurecon and the Government Employees Medical Scheme.

Mpumi is well equipped to articulate problems and strategies when she facilitated Cadre Plan workshops and brainstorming sessions. She also takes a lead in organisational and human resource strategies required by local government.

Mpumi facilitated various workshops with communities at grassroots levels and provided guidance to community businesses and entrepreneurs. She advises small and medium enterprises when Cadre Plan drafts local economic development strategies.
